We hired Scott to provide ambiance for a reception in an Exhibit Hall during a conference. I can't say enough about his professionalism and understanding of what we had in mind for the event. He was great to work with!
I began making music early (age 4) picking out tunes on our family piano. Serious “classical” studies led to undergraduate and graduate degrees in piano performance, leadership positions at respected music schools nationwide, and later the Operations Manager position with the Boston Pops.
In addition to knowing and continuing to perform traditional classical repertoire, my true passion always has been playing the music from the “American Songbook.” That music has lived in my brain as long as I can remember. Knowing hundreds and hundreds of popular tunes as I do enables me to bypass the printed page and spin out fresh, spontaneous arrangements improvising in different styles reminiscent of Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson, Dave McKenna, and others. So whether playing music written by composers such as Gershwin, Ellington, Lennon/McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John, James Taylor, Carol King, and more recently Taylor Swift, you'll hear my own personal imprint on each tune.
As to a piano available to use at the venue, my intention is that when an available instrument has been maintained regularly and tuned recently, I welcome the opportunity to use that piano, in particular for a traditional wedding ceremony or memorial. However, I am more than happy to provide my high quality Yamaha P-105 digital keyboard and a separate sound system. Together they replicate the timbre of a 9-foot concert grand while allowing me to add a bit of percussion or an alternative keyboard sound to enhance a particular song.
So let me close by thanking you for reading this brief profile. Do take a moment to listen to the music samples I've included in the "media" section, and I do hope we have the opportunity to speak further about how my music will support and enhance the ambiance of the event for all of your guests.
