Relationships form the basis of everything we do as individuals and for this African jazz saxophonist, One of the ways to tell of the musical expertise of a good saxophone player is his ability to connect with any audience and collaborate with fellow artists and emerging brands. But this cannot just happen as one needs to have the ability to build quality relationships. Shola Emmanuel’s affinity with music has gone beyond just sax playing to building relationships that bridge gaps, and transcend barriers, and speaks deeply to those who have come to love his passionate approach to music in an African jazz style. As a benefactor of the art envoy program by the US department of state; In 2014, the American embassy, Abuja Nigeria honored Shola Emmanuel’s unique saxophone playing style with an invitation to perform a series of live concerts to the North American audience in the Fall of 2014. Gracing stages from Atlanta, Georgia to New England, New York, and New Jersey. Welcomed with warm applause, the soulful rhythm of Mr. Emmanuel’s saxophone playing with a blend of African jazz, highlife, South African jazz vibe, and American swing jazz, was enjoyed in some of America’s coziest jazz spots and celebrated performance centers. His sharing of the music and culture of Africa with the American audience initiated amazing collaborations with noted US artists, students, and an eager audience within and outside Atlanta Georgia. Through music and arts, this reality is brought to bear using moral, social, local, medical, religious, and transnational terms to stir up hope and healing. Music and arts engage social networks, power relationships, and cultural structures to convey the message of hope and healing and of knowledge and good counsel to the wider community. And as a result of acculturation, no doubt the African way of life and style of music is making waves in the world music scene. For this sole reason, Atlanta Saxophone Player shares the music and culture of Africa with the French audience as a benefactor of the French Embassy Nigeria and Institute francais du Abuja which initiated amazing collaborations with noted French artists, students, and an eager audience within and outside Paris. The three main areas that influence the construction of artistic-professional strategies are the administrative dimension, characterized mainly by management and promotion tasks, the artistic-creative dimension, which includes the construction of artistic identity and the creation of works of art; and the social dimension within the collective, which groups together strategies related to the dynamics of cooperation and collaboration between the circle of musicians. In view of this Shola Emmanuel aligned himself with masters of the genre, he has spent time exploring new realms and horizons with masters of his art in the professional music scene, including Legendary Quincy Jones, and Kirk Whalum: Grammy award saxophone player.
