Phoenix String Quartet:
This turned out to be a very difficult gig under extreme conditions. Conditions that as per contract are at discretion of performers to play or not. The wind was so high that it blew stands over, blew pages off stands that were pinned to folders, and physically blew stand tops in circles while musicians were trying to play. It also turned out to be a day that was quite cold without the wind. Sometimes it amazes me that when you go out of the way to accomodate someone, it's those people that are the ungreateful. Two of my violinists did a very professional job under the circumstances. I asked them why they didn't move inside and use the wireless pa system, aReview by Joy B.
