The Dixie Swing Project melds the best Dixieland tunes with golden big band classics from the swing era. The band has a horn section featuring clarinet, alto and tenor saxes, trumpet and trombone. Combined with piano, bass and drums, these talented musicians entertain audiences of all ages and delight crowds at events of all sizes. We play well-known Dixieland tunes such as "Basin Street Blues." "When the Saints Go Marching In" and the New Orleans standard "Muskrat Ramble," as well as big band classics like "In The Mood," "Take The A Train" and "Stompin' At The Savoy." We think of ourselves as "everyone's jazz band," meaning we play tunes that are familiar to most people. We keep the energy up with bright, cheerful tunes, perfect for any party or celebration! The players are all seasoned pros and have worked with many international, national and local artists, including Frankie Valli, Johnny Mathis, Rita Moreno, Al Martino, Jerry Vale, Robert Goulet, The Drifters, The Shirelles, Harry James Orchestra, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and Guy Lombardo's Royal Canadians. We've played at many of New England's most popular venues, including some of the largest hotels and conference centers in Boston, Manchester, Worcester and Providence. We've also played backyard weddings, VFW, Elks and Knights of Columbus halls. Anywhere you have an event, we've been there and done that! We can help coordinate the logistics of having live music for your guests. You won't serve your guests canned food. Why give them canned music? Live music is best, and surprisingly affordable! The Dixie Swing Project is available for concerts, festivals, weddings, parties, dances and other occasions.
