They were two hours late, and hard to hear when they played, and not at all the same music they advertised. They did stay late, though, and played "karaoke" style at the end of the reception, which was appreciated.

I was shocked by this review. My phone died on the way to Chinook so we had no GPS, no way to call, & got lost. We were late, but not 2 hours late. Still, we felt bad and offered to play as long as they wanted. We played more than 4 hours though we were paid for 2.
Once we started playing, a woman kept complaining that she didn't care for gypsy jazz. That was what David had booked us to play but she insisted that she couldn't dance to it and kept requesting rock and Motown songs.
We played all her requests, & are getting a bad review for that. We played our hearts out, as always. Our other reviews are all 5 stars because we always give our all.

LaLa Pomp was great!! They were so enjoyable and had all the right skills. They played music that everyone enjoyed, ages 25-75 were there. We even had a couple professional singers in the audience and they allowed the two girls to come up and sing. It was fantastic!!
I will be hiring them again when we come back to Portland.

Just what we asked for, and exactly what we hoped for. For this gig, we used two guitarists only, because it was a small party in a private home, and we wanted to keep conversation going. The music was conducive to conversation, and yet plenty of people were happy to sit and listen to them as they played.

LaLa Pomp was absolutely great to have at our reception. Their music provided a great background beat, and even got some attendees dancing! The group had a focus on world music this conference so their style fit in perfectly. We got numerous compliments on the group and would absolutely book them in the future. They were accomodating to all of our requests and were excellent to work with in the preplanning. I would absolutely work with them again!

Alex was very accommodating and flexible during the couple of months we spent in dialogue planning music for our wedding reception. It was clear he wanted to do all he could to provide us with the best experience possible. He followed up on all of my requests to see videos of his group and made sure we got the instrumentation we desired. He also humored my request that the band play a tune for us during our rock piling competition outside and it was perfect! We absolutely positively loved their selection of gypsy jazz music and would be very happy to book with them again. We give LaLa Pomp the highest approval! Thank you!
