Candace Vargas and NortherN 505 Candace Vargas is a twenty-two (22) time award winner with the New Mexico Hispano Music Association (NMHMA) to include 2008 Female Vocalist, Original Song of The Year, Ranchera, Cumbia, and for (5) five years in a row Conjunto Song of the Year, and a Quince Grandes award winner. Candace Vargas is a two-time Grammy award consideration. Candace Vargas is a 2019 Tejano Music Awards Nominee for Female Vocal, CD and Song of the year. Candace Vargas will be performing for the Tejano Music Awards on November 16, 2019, in San Antonio, TX. Candace has been performing for eighteen years has had the honor of touring all over the Mid-West and West Coast representing our New Mexico's music, culture, and traditions. Candace has recorded nine (9) professional music CDs and has released her 9th CD "A Mi Modo" in June 2018. Candace received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in May of 2016 and is pursuing a Master of Science in Computational Mathematics. NortherN 505 "NortherN 505" in Northern New Mexico's hardest working variety band for their customer's satisfaction. The group has built their reputation by its astonishing live performances and prides themselves in playing music "Northern New Mexico Style". Joel Vargas created the group "NortherN 505" eleven years ago. He wanted to stay close to his Northern New Mexico roots so he sought out some of the best musicians that would continue with his unique style. He added Erik Yee (Lead Guitar-Las Vegas), Lawrence Vigil (Bass-Taos) and Darel Madrid (Drums-Hernandez). This combination kept the upbeat Northern New Mexico Style, which NortherN 505 is known for. The Group "NortherN 505" has had the privilege of performing all over the Mid-West and has proven to be a crowd-pleaser. "NortherN 505" is a variety band that plays Rancheras, Cumbias, Country, Oldies, and Classic Rock. Joel has received four (NMHMA) New Mexico Hispano Music Awards for (2) Original Song of the Year, and (2) Song Writer of the Year. NortherN 505 is currently promoting their self-entitled CD release.
