About Vendor
Learn more about this vendor for your event.
A Veteran of the stage, Lawrence Cooley has been performing professionally since the age of 16. In the beginning, for over 10 years, Lawrence served as the lead singer & guitarist of Straight Wired one of the most popular, top-drawing acts in the tri-state area, also known for his debut at Woodstock ’94. For the past 20 years, Lawrence has developed and perfected his one-man acoustic band, wowing audiences from the Hamptons, N.YC., the tri-state to St. Barth’s, French West Indies, and beyond, establishing a solid Nationwide following. What separates Lawrence from other solo acoustic acts, is his unique ability to; hypnotize an audience with his impressive acoustic sets, by laying down a percussive groove, drumming on his guitar while recording it through a loop station, and steadily building on top of his live loop recording, until he creates a full band sound with a single instrument. Lawrence creates a “FULL BAND SOUND” on the spot, with no pre-recordings, this is a live show. The result is a truly dynamic performance beyond the typical solo acoustic experience. Steve Tarkanish, of Stars Productions, after hearing Lawrence offered him a contract and said, "In all these years I have yet to hear a voice like his that can emulate so many artists, sing so many different styles, and still have a unique sound of its own. If you closed your eyes while listening to Lawrence sing you could believe you’re listening to the actual artist being covered”, i.e. Dave Matthews, Bob Marley, John Mayor, Louis Armstrong, Elton John, etc. Lawrence’s ever-expanding set list includes hits from the '50s through, to today. Being a versatile musician, he can also cater to your special request list, DJ and Master of Ceremony, providing top-quality sound and professionalism at any type of location. Lawrence has the experience, friendly attitude, and know-how, to make your event Memorable. Through his resources, he can also provide additional instrumental accompaniment upon request, including a full band. Please forward questions and requests to this website for processing. Be speaking with you very soon. Thank you, Lawrence Cooley.
