Shirley Johnson is one of Austin's most versatile accordionist/ vocalist!
***Singing in various European languages as well as in English, Shirley plays a wide selection of Italian, French, Irish, American Standards, Gypsy Jazz, Klezmer, Balkan, Slavic, Holiday, and of course … Oktoberfest music!
*** No performance is too large of too small for her to perform at! Shirley has performed throughout Texas, and the Eastern & Southern parts of the USA. She has even performed in Northern Spain, Italy, and (the former country of) Czechoslovakia. Ms. Johnson has sung in a choir at Carnegie Hall in NYC and Disney World, as well as has played her accordion at Emo's in Austin with an Indie Rock band.
***Her sparkling keys and beautiful voice will delight audiences as she strolls from table to table at your romantic Wedding Reception or perform amplified at your next Party, Bar Mitzvah, Concert, Family Gathering, Festival, etc.
*** Shirley is also a member of the Austin, TX based French & International Jazz band “Julie Slim and RendezVous,” and the Oktoberfest band, “The Oom-Pahs,” from New Braunfels. She also sometimes performs with Djamberry Caravan (Gypsy Jazz), JTFest Duo (Octoberfest), and KlezAustin (Klezmer).
*** She has created 3 solo CDs - her latest is “Dancing Angels” - and has been a featured or guest artist on numerous CDs from other musicians. You can find “Dancing Angels” on Spotify, Amazon, and all your favorite music download sites.
*** Not only a performer, Shirley teaches accordion and is the co-producer of the “Not Just Oom-Pah! Accordion Concert and Workshop.”
