Why You Need Engagement Photos

Marta Block

A lot of the recent popularity of an engagement session has to do with social media. In the old days (you know, back in the year 2000 or so), there wasn't much to do with your engagement photos except send them to your hometown newspaper. Is Used a New Wedding Trend?

Marta Block

When Andrea Lown started SmartBride Boutique in 2008 a lot of her clients couldn't get over the idea that they'd be using someone else's wedding dress. According to Lown, brides were nervous and somewhat secretive about it, hiding the information from friends and family. Today though, Lown says that with the rise of the sharing economy outside of the wedding world, more and more brides are becoming more and more comfortable with the idea of buying a used dress, and selling their dress later. Lown points to the rise her company has seen in resale of dresses costing over $2,000 as evidence that this trend isn't just for the cash strapped, and isn't in fact just about saving money.... MORE

Star Wars Wedding Inspiration

Chelsea Pellegrino

At their wedding, this couple joined forces in more ways than one. Being Star Wars fans, they decided to incorporate their favorite movie into their special day! A handful of intergalactic details were used to make their ceremony unique, yet still keeping things traditional. While it might not have been the Millennium Falcon, the pair did exchange vows on a ship- a chartered yacht, to be exact. With guests dressed as Jedi and an R2D2 ring bearer, we'd say this theme was out of this world! (That's the last space pun, we promise). Wedding Fitness: Just Dance!

Marta Block

A while ago, we ran a blog post about dance as a great wedding fitness routine. It was so popular that we asked our writer to expand it into an article for our guide here. Studies show that dancing can burn over 260 calories per hour--a burn rate equivalent to a fast walk. If regularly practiced, dancing can lead to a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure and improved cholesterol levels, all signs of improved health and fitness. Dancing also is proven to lead to a sense of "well being" and confidence (no small thing when walking down an aisle in front of all your friends and family), and lastly, practice makes perfect so you'll be able to shake your bon-bon even better come wedding day. Here's a look at what each of the hottest dance-based fitness routines can do for your big day countdown:... MORE
