In addition to concerts and festivals, we enjoy playing for private parties, house concerts, corporate picnics and promotional events (our middle name used to be 'pig-picking'). And you can often catch one or all of us trying out new material (and menu items) at a few Greensboro / Winston-Salem coffee shops or clubs. Our fees range with line-up, size of venue, travel, and sound/lighting requirements. AND like our mentors (Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Bonnie Raitt, Jesse Colin Young, and others) we strive to be available pro bono for musical support at select climate- and social-justice events. As a trio WBA is known for tight three-part vocal harmonies! As solo and duo artists, John and Rob bring well-crafted original folk and folk-rock tunes along with cover tunes and “salubrious good fellowship” Lou volunteers weekly playing music for assisted-living facilities in the Triad and is the annual on-stage talent for the Ocrafolk Festival on Ocracoke Island. For over 40 years WB&A have been buddies making music throughout North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia. We've been featured performers with regional festivals/concerts like City Stage, Sunset Rhythms, Street Scene, Apple Dumplin', Music for Sunday Evening in the Park, and "Ocrafolk.” As a trio, Warren, Bodle & Allen is three-voice, six-instrument band. John Warren performs on guitar. Rob Bodle plays guitar and banjo. Louis Allen holds forth on mandolin, bass guitar and harmonicaS. Switching around on lead vocals and instruments provides a fresh mix of sound on classic folk-rock, "newgrass" and original tunes - keeping the listening experience interesting. Song list extensive, and represent songs by artists like CS&N, Loggins & Messina, Robbie Robertson, Harry Chaplin, Poco, James Taylor, Firefall, Dan Fogelberg, John Prine, Greg Allman, Alison Krauss, and Paul Simon. It's all dynamic, good-feeling, recognizable music that appeals to a wide range of ages and tastes!
