About Vendor

Acoustic performance and songs spoke to Ira as they do us all, since childhood, bridging the best of present, past and our future genesis. Ira's first major music encounter was Elvis's "Can't Help Falling In Love" sitting at the piano bench listening to his grandmother's rendition. He soon took to his own poetic composition, and guitar, harmonica and self instruction. By 15 he was learning the iconic artists - Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Carole King, Peter Gabriel, Sting - artists that brought his musical imagination and memory alive - within a few years Ira was performing at diverse venues across the neighborhoods of his hometown Pittsburgh. Over the next few years, his audiences grew at resorts in Acapulco and Cancun, at retreats, nightclubs, cafes, private parties and Earth Day Celebrations. Ira's first original "Walking on the Grass" quickly became a favorite of his 50 rowdy fraternity brothers, whose roaring winter fireplace and "hot chocolate schnapps" private galas were favorites among Penn State's sororities. The acoustic venues always fostered great melodies and great memories, neat coincidences and guiding turns of fortune. Studying abroad allowed Ira to play twice weekly in Manchester's largest pub, the sprawling, converted-movie theatre "Flea & Firkin", saturated w New Castle Brown and rowdy singers-along. The Artists of the 80s-90's provided plenty of jamming songs and the earnings led to Ira's first album "Father's Day". Gifted copies found their way to top artists' working in Hudson River Valley and Ira's first recording project ("The Clubhouse", demos and credits on GigMasters' audio). Of Ira's live shows and the venture, Hollywood Reporter's European Bureau Chief Richard Zahradnik would liken Ira to Billy Joel, quoting the new Late Great Rebellion - "He is young and he is fire...someone in the music industry will get a winner when they sign Ira". The Movies, Music and Movements of the 80's and 90's enlivened set lists and even internationalized them. With Paul Simon's "Graceland", "Rhythm of the Saints" and Peter Gabriel's "So", African sounds and sensations won synthesis into top 10 albums and millennial themes. Ira weaves these tunes into his shows wherever he can, often interpreting and innovating adeptly to both complement the original and satisfy the moment. Which brings us to you. Is this a long anticipated life cycle event for a parent, teacher or mentor? A rare gathering of friends, colleagues or loved ones separated by time zones, schedules and family lives? Or just an all out party? In each and all, Ira will bring an intelligent blend of popular covers and engaging refreshers to help you accentuate each and every special moment. He can even compose a signature song for the Guest(s) of Honor, walking with you through the successive celebration stages to the event itself. Whatever the promising potentials are of this special affair, Ira is ready to maneuver melody, metaphor and meaning into an enduring elegance for you and your circles. Welcoming the opportunity to make it magnificent and make it count, My best, Ira Caplan
