DC based, UK musician Ken Avis is the guitarist with award-winning, world-jazz band Veronneau. With the band he has toured and recorded professionally for over 10 years in the US, UK and Canada, playing venues such as the Kennedy Center, Strathmore, Blues Alley and DC Jazz Festival, as well as corporate and private shows at embassy's and for International organizations. Ken loves to play as a solo instrumentalist on acoustic classical or jazz guitar, and is also happy to perform solo guitar and vocals. His repertoire bridges popular American Song Book, jazz classics, folk, blues and soul styles. He's also been recognized with awards for his original song-writing, in addition to the 7 Wammie awards he has earned with Veronneau including Best Band and Best Recording. As a solo guitarist Ken has performed at such elegant venues as the George Town Club and the Maryland Club in Baltimore. He's also performed many private events, club and restaurant dates.
