With the addition of a steel drummer, the act becomes "Caribbean Sunset" available from a duo and trio up to a 6pc Band. This combination becomes the perfect musical backdrop to summertime events featuring authentic caribbean music for listening and dancing.
Summertime work is concentrated on (but not limited to) the Jimmy Buffett Parrothead community featuring select JB covers, singer/songwriter material and tropical flavored country/rock. Specific songlists covering different music styles can be assembled as required.
BIO:
As a solo entertainer, Mark James has performed in various settings across the country from intimate parties to corporate events, the college circuit and many park concerts over his 30+ year career.
As a lead guitarist, Mark James had been performing with John Frinzi, including several dates with different members of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band: Doyle Grisham, Michael Utley, Robert Greenidge, Mac McAnally, Nadirah Shakoor and Peter & Jim Mayer. This personal accomplishment and experience has had a great effect on how he relates to and performs this style of music; as an ensemble player, solo performer and songwriter. Mark continues to perform with John on select dates when John is in the Northeast and various dates in Key West during Meeting Of The Minds.
He has also been collaborating with Dennis McCaughey of Tropical Soul around Southeast PA and Yankee Jack when in Key West, FL.
Mark James was lead guitarist for the premier JB tribute band Parrotbeach from 2006 to 2009, performing extensively throughout the US and Caribbean. Mark still performs on select dates with PB as required.
When not touring with other artists, Mark is available for solo, duo, trio and band dates performing select covers and original music.
Career experience has been in all styles of music and ensembles from show bands to music in the schools assemblies. Performing from NY to LA and Toronto to Key West to audiences from 15 to 15,000.
Gig of choice is outdoor events - someplace warm.
