Rick a very talented musician was able to capture the feeling of our Lantern Festival through his many song choices. A time of reflection for guests in attendance , Rick knew just what to play. The acoustic guitar was just perfect . Many came to me after his performance to offer postive feedback ! They loved him and asked if he could be part of our festival next year !
Rick has a wide and deep range of experience, having played in rock cover bands in the late '70s as well as his recent work perfecting his classical technique. The result is a fluid style of guitar-playing that incorporates elements of blues, finger-picking, classical and rock. His influences include Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Jerry Garcia, Leo Kotke, Michael Hedges, Martin Simpson, Steve Baughman, Laurence Juber, and the Beatles.
Whether rockin' the house playing lead in "MushroomSoup" (part of the R.I. Legends of Rock house band at the Met Café in Providence), or filling a room with the gentle strains of Celtic and Appalachian ballads and familiar standards on acoustic guitar, Rick's playing is always in keeping with the context and the audience.
Exquisite and appropriate acoustic music
Rick's interest in finger-picking styles is fairly recent, but he has developed a large repertoire of instrumental music that fits in nicely with get-togethers and fine dining. Whether you're looking for incidental music for a special event, or want to enhance the dining experience at your restaurant, Rick can tailor an evening's music to perfectly suit your interests.
Rick has assembled some awesome weapons in his music arsenal. They include a Taylor 714CE, a Martin GPAC1, a Taylor NS-74, and a vintage Gibson Les Paul Standard.
