NEWINCENTIVE World Music Band from Burlington, NC

NCA stands for Newincentive Cultural Arts. We are a community of artist who are comprised of musicians, dancers, singers and poets who love to share our knowledge of the Diaspora with EVERYONE. No matter what race, gender or religion. Ages of 3 to 103 -- beginner to professional are ALL welcome! Our aim is to expand and exemplify one's consciousness through performances, workshops, lecture demonstrations, and classes. By doing this, we continue to stimulate the hearts and minds of our audiences. Our Performances will vary based on your event. From Large Elaborate Weddings to Small Community Functions, we will provide a breathtaking blend of artistry, athleticism, dynamism, and explosive energy. Our Workshops offer opportunities to learn specific rhythms, their names, history as well as a few of the traditional ballet dance style movements that are generally known for the rhythm that is shared. We provide an introduction to traditional African movement which is excellent for people who like to dance, those who don't yet know they like to dance as well as for those who have little or no dance training. It is suitable for all ages. Our Lecture Demonstrations are 45-minutes of movement, music and song that provides an introduction to the cultural history of the diaspora. This educational experience engages the audiences of all ages. The performers wear authentic African-attire, and can provide educational materials which are available upon request. Audience participation is an integral part of this activity. It is ideally suited for school assemblies, seminars, workshops, outdoor festivals, and large group gatherings. Our Drum & Dance classes offer opportunities to learn about the relationship, communication & language that are shared between a drummer & a dancer. Through history, rhythm & song. It's a fun and challenging environment to learn how to dance and gain further skills in the traditions of Africa. We of NEWINCENTIVE would hope to empower all those who see and hear us.
