Francis McGrath Ambient Pianist from Austin, TX

Combining years of experience from different bands and different styles, Francis McGrath creates a unique mood for formal or casual events. He seamlessly switches from jazz to classical to pop to new age with just the right amount of improvisation. Guests passively enjoy the background music until their ears are tickled by a familiar melody or pleasant memory. After a recent performance at Mother's Cafe in Austin, people on Facebook posted "Miles Davis, Cyndi Lauper, the Who… The Dave Brubeck medley was rivaled only by the vegetable medley." If you do not have a piano, Francis can bring a Kurzweil PC3K8 keyboard. Electronic Musician magazine's review said, "The acoustic pianos are more natural sounding and timbrally balanced than those in any other keyboard I've played". He also has a small amp that sounds great in big or small rooms, without drowning out conversations. The combination of the keyboard and amp gives the illusion that a real piano is in the room.
