1. Pop Culture Takes Center Stage

From blockbuster movies to viral moments, pop culture continues to shape kids’ party themes in a big way—driving everything from décor to entertainment.
“For boys, super heroes are here to stay, and we are loving it with the interactive entertainment, bespoke desserts, and movie viewing parties," shared Lisa Jaroscak, Owner & Creative Director of Elegante Weddings & Events.
Lisa added, "We think that with the release of the next Wicked movie that that will continue to be very present as a theme.”
2. The Bow Moment

Bows are having a major moment in kids’ party decor, adding a playful yet polished touch to everything from backdrops to table settings.
"For girls we are expecting bows to continue to be a hot trend for the decor," shared Lisa Jaroscak, Owner & Creative Director of Elegante Weddings & Events.
3. Kid-First Celebrations

There’s a noticeable shift back to designing with kids in mind—prioritizing play, color, and connection over overly styled, adult-driven aesthetics.
"We’re seeing a beautiful return to simplicity and genuine fun for events that feel less about perfection and more about connection and play," shared Valarie Falvey, Founder and Team Manager of Kirkbrides Wedding Planning & Design. "For kids’ parties, that means designing with kids in mind again, embracing whimsy, color, and moments of magic rather than adult-inspired decor. Think karaoke stations where little guests can record their performances and take home digital souvenirs, or interactive ice cream-making stations with a friendly attendant."
4. Bigger Than Ever Celebrations

Kids’ parties are starting to feel more like full-scale events than simple celebrations, with multiple experiences and interactive elements designed to keep all guests engaged from start to finish.
"The new wave of children’s celebrations caters to little guests and also to the parents who are quietly hoping the invite will be fun," shared Amy Abbott, Owner & Creative Director of Amy Abbott Events. "DJs by the pool, carnival booths, rodeo rides, themed lounges, staffed play stations, and interactive decor are turning these gatherings into mini festivals rather than Saturday obligations."
5. Over-the-Top Milestone Celebrations

Milestone celebrations are getting bigger, bolder, and more personalized than ever—no matter the age.
"Even first birthdays are leveling up with real-life unicorns, a Nashville singer brought in to perform, custom signage, balloon installations, oversized candy bars, and entertainment that keeps every age group genuinely engaged," shared Amy Abbott, Owner & Creative Director of Amy Abbott Events.
6. Roaming Entertainment

Roaming entertainment is gaining popularity, bringing the fun directly to guests instead of keeping it in one place.
"We’re seeing an exciting surge in roaming interactive entertainment and we love it," shared Angela Carter of Carter Group Creative. "Roaming balloon artists bring an extra dose of fun to family and kids’ events, keeping little ones (and adults) entertained throughout.”
Pro Tip: Book roaming entertainers like balloon artists, magicians, face painters, or caricaturists on The Bash to bring interactive moments directly to your guests.
7. Immersive Party Experiences

Themed parties are evolving into fully immersive environments where every detail contributes to a cohesive, imaginative experience.
“For kids’ parties, immersive worlds (think mini music festivals or adventure themes) are replacing traditional “character” décor. Every detail feels bespoke and experiential," shared Cathy O'Connell, Co-Founder & Creative Director of COJ Events.
