Don’s professional playing and appearance were a great comfort at my mother’s funeral. In the time of Covid when so many traditions have been sacrificed, it was a relief to hear his pipes as we entered and left the church. My family will be forever grateful to him.
Thank you for taking a look at my profile!
(Many of my gigs come from sources other than The Bash. In order to see more reviews of client's experiences working with me please check: twinlochs(dot)org/reviews.html)
I am an experienced piper based in southeastern Massachusetts, but my gigs have taken me north to MA/NH border, east to the elbow of the Cape, south to the Rhode Island coast and west to Worcester County. I don't mind a bit of travel to bring the sound of the pipes to those who want to listen.
My repertoire is primarily a variety of Scottish, Irish and American tunes, and range from solemn slow aires (which are appropriate for funerals, memorial services, dedications, etc.) to more upbeat jigs, strathspeys and marches (for weddings, corporate events, graduations, parties, etc.). Also, I am always available to clients and their guests for photos, or to answer questions when desired and appropriate.
Piping is my passion....second only to my family. As a solo piper I have competed against my peers at various highland games and stay as busy as possible with private gigs. I am fortunate to have accomplished Scottish pipers Neil Clark and David Methven as my friends, tutors and mentors. In addition to my work as a solo piper, I am also a member, and past Pipe Major of Colum Cille Pipes & Drums of Cape Cod. As a member of Colum Cille I have lead the band in competition against other bands in the area, traveled to Scotland to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships, and played on stage with international superstar Andre Rieu.
If you are considering me as your piper, I encourage you to listen to my audio samples here on The Bash and on my own website at TwinLochs.org. There is also a partial list of tunes in my repertoire listed here as well. If there is something you would like to request, but don't see it listed, please don't hesitate to ask. If I don't already know it, I am always happy to add new tunes to my repertoire if given enough notice to learn them.
Thank you very much for your interest in my piping, and I hope to play for you soon!
Cheers!
-Don
