Talented, detail oriented, and utterly charming. Thom is the ideal bagpiper for your wedding! I was juggling several last-minute plans for our big day and did not check in with Thom about song selection or logistics until the week before the event. Good thing I had him! He recommended perfect song selections for our processessional And recessional, I didn’t need to do any additional research. One conversation over the phone and he had the logistics down. He arrived early, was polished, articulate, and so kind. I’m already thinking of reasons to hire him again because it was such a rewarding experience. Thom, you made our wedding day so special!! -Megan & Ted, Philly
I am proud to play this great instrument, and look forward to making your special event truly memorable, whether it is a funeral or memorial service for a loved one, a wedding, birthday party, a corporate event or promotional activity, or some other remembrance or celebration. I always take special care in how I present myself, tailoring my appearance, uniform, and repertoire to the circumstances and style of your event. I am extremely well versed in Irish, Scottish, and other Celtic musical selections, and love to work directly with clients to tailor my performance to their particular needs and interests.
One of my heartfelt goals as a highly experienced, well-trained, and certifiably accomplished bagpiper is to educate folks about how truly amazing the bagpipe can sound. This is my essential mission. Sadly, even many people with professional training on other instruments often have only a vague idea of how a bagpipe really should sound and how it should be played. This is why I'm always ready to provide advice and help to bagpipe students and even other experienced pipers who may not have had the benefit of top-notch teachers and consistent training. The bagpipe is surely one of the noblest of all musical instruments, and whenever I play it, I am keenly aware of the great social and cultural Celtic heritage that it represents. I will continue to do my part to represent the instrument appropriately, with dignity and honor, as well as, of course, some good fun!
