Ernie Rogers is the owner and lead auctioneer of Blacktie Benefit Auctions, the company he founded in 2004 to help non-profit organizations across Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, and the District of Columbia maximize revenue at their annual fundraising galas. With a sharp focus on elevating mission-driven events, Ernie brings decades of expertise, professionalism, and energy to every auction he conducts. Ernie holds the respected auctioneer designations of CAI, AARE, and CES, reflecting his commitment to excellence in the auction industry. He is a graduate of Arizona Western College and The Reppert School of Auctioneering in Auburn, Indiana. Before entering the auction profession, Ernie served four years in the United States Marine Corps and later retired as a Captain from the United States Air Force Reserves. A longtime leader within his profession, Ernie is a past president and former board member of the Virginia Auctioneers Association. In August 2004, he earned statewide recognition by winning the Virginia State Auctioneer Championship, becoming the 2004–2005 Virginia State Champion. Today, Ernie personally conducts 45–50 benefit and fundraising auctions each year, helping nonprofit organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic achieve and exceed their fundraising goals. He resides in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife of more than 47 years, and they are the proud parents of two children, Jansen and Lexi.
