Raborn & Talley is a musical collaboration between two professional acoustic musicians that are highly regarded among their peers as being extraordinary artists. Individually, they have played for, recorded with, and traveled with, many bands/groups, including some of the greatest names in acoustic music. They have also done numerous television spots, as well as choral and touring theatrical productions. That said, we specialize in weddings--both the ceremony and receptions and we have numerous references available on request. We are also happy to perform "special" music of your choosing. We also do a lot of parties--of every type! And we play festivals, events and small-medium acoustic venues. Raborn & Talley play a diverse cross-section of musical genres: from hard-driving bluegrass tunes, to Cajun ballads, like Jai Passe Devant A Porte; to Flight of the Bumblebee; wedding-appropriate music; ballads, Irish reels, waltzes and beautiful background melodies: Bluegrass, Cajun, Irish, Gypsy Jazz/Swing, Gospel/Christian works, Classical, and MANY more. If you're looking for a 5-String banjo player, and/or a smaller, more intimate ensemble that isn't too loud or overbearing--that performs tasteful, highly-polished music on a level you and your guests will not soon forget; Or, if you're looking simply for a unique, pleasant, entertaining accent for your event, we are for you! I also have an accompanist (acoustic guitar player, bass or fiddle) available, if you prefer a bit fuller sound. I've traveled with and recorded with numerous touring/well-known bands. I'm willing to travel most anywhere (no outdoor, inside-the-Arctic Circle or Himalayan Mtn. top gigs, please). I'm a cost-effective, high-quality alternative to a full band.
