Meriem Pahlavi is an established performer and oriental dance instructor. learning and practicing dance with Meriem Pahlavi is much more than a simple transmission of knowledge—it is an opportunity to experience the genuine passion for the art of dance from one of the best teachers of this generation, recognized internationally and capable of sharing expertise around the globe. Coming from Moroccan roots, Meriem Pahlavi is an established performer and dance instructor. Although her academic career led to a university degree in clinical psychology, oriental dance has been her true passion since 2000. Her desire to excel inspired her to take classes in Casablanca, where she sharpened her skills in gymnastics, aerial dance, and oriental dance. In 2007, she studied under renowned instructor Hind Sardi, who instilled her with the fundamentals of the craft. Consequently, her incredible passion soon transformed into a profession in 2011 and has been quickly developing ever since. To improve her skills and demonstrate her abilities, Meriem has participated in workshops alongside well-known specialists, including Mayodi Sultan in 2011 and Rajaa Duassart and Mercedes Nieto in 2012. Meriem's first appearance in a dance festival took place in 2013 at “Dreams of the Orient,” where she performed alongside such greats as Raqia Hassan, Yamil Annum, Saida Helou and Ibrahim Al Suezi. Meriem then underwent intensive professional training with Zomzom in 2014, and the following year, her flourishing talent procured her participation in the Latino Dance Festival of Marrakech and Funoon Dance Camp, sharing a stage with Nawarra and famous Turkish dancer Ozgen. She also made an appearance at the Arrabesk Festival in Marrakech, alongside Mohamed Shahin, Amir Thaleb, Mercedes Nieto, Salima, and Mayodi. Furthermore, she has participated in the Mythic Latino Festival. This abundant number of events and collaborations with the most talented artists of this generation continually influence Meriem's artistic style, contributing to her development and progression within the craft. As her appearances on stage propelled her reputation, Meriem Pahlavi's career took an important turn in 2016, when she achieved international recognition within the world of oriental dance. In addition, she began organizing her first workshops, in which she welcomed international stars of oriental dance, such as Zomzom. She also participated in three festivals in Casablanca, including the World Dance Congress. Furthermore, she participated in the Cairo Light Festival alongside Tito Seif, and she made notable appearances in shows featuring famous singers, such as Ramy Ayach and Ragheb Alama. In 2017, she organized a new workshop with Russian performer Vaagn Tadevosyan. In addition, Meriem has arranged workshops with Oscar Flores. Meriem Pahlavi's style is exceptional. Demonstrating an astonishing use of the body to harmonize music and dance, Meriem has the ability to present this talent regardless of style and choreography. Her technical mastery combines tradition and modernity in a powerful combination, making her one of the most prominent figures in oriental dance. Truly, the sentiments expressed in Meriem's body movements are outstanding. The charming choreography, which fully embraces the music amidst which it is expressed, exhales an overwhelming positive energy that is nearly palpable. Furthermore, Meriem's fluency in Arabic and French, as well as her advanced proficiency in English, make her an ideal source for responding to artistic requests. Meriem Pahlavi is not limited to excelling at a single style. Instead, she teaches Baladi, shaabi, dabke, classical oriental dance, traditional Moroccan dance and Latin dance. In addition to sharing her knowledge with adults and children alike, she also performs at various events. With that said, the immense passion that Meriem brings to dance is truly revealed during her performances on stage, including at concerts and parties. Without a doubt, learning and practicing dance with Meriem Pahlavi is much more than a simple transmission of knowledge—it is an opportunity to experience the genuine passion for the art of dance from one of the best teachers of this generation, recognized internationally and capable of sharing expertise around the globe.
