Tilisa has a unique perspective as a young black female who had her first child at the age of 15. Tilisa pursued her Bachelors in Accounting and later received her Masters degree in Leadership & Management. Tilisa managed to go from payroll clerk to Director of Accounting by the age of 30 while enduring the inequalities of white privilege, inadequate job training and culture inequities. This young woman continues to break down stereotypes, barriers and social norms while creating a diverse and inclusive atmosphere where ALL are welcome. The stories that Tilisa shares with her audiences bring awareness to the racial inequalities that still exist in organizations all over the world today. Tilisa has been successful in creating a diverse workforce, changing organizational culture and on-boarding people with different backgrounds, race, gender, age, religion and sexual orientation.
