I've been caricaturing since I was a mere slip of a thing. I studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh under the mighty John Johns, who taught me what I now call 'performance caricature'—the act of redesigning a face in 3-4 minutes while an audience looks on. It's a show. I work in marker, so there's no room for mistakes. Every line counts. At the end you get a drawing of your face—envisioned as a pure black & white graphic design—a memento of the event.
