Judy was such a fun addition to our wedding cocktail hour and reception. Every time I Looked over to her station there was ALWAYS a line of folks eagerly waiting to get their caricature done. I loved it when my friends and family came to show me their pictures, they were all so fun, flattering, and well done! I had many guests tell me that they intend to frame their caricature to hang up at home. On top of being pleasant and easy to coordinate with, Judy was truly talented. The drawings she did for our guests were truly resemblant of her subjects and turned out amazing. I really feel as though Judy was one of the best hires for our wedding day. Thank you, Judy!
Thanks for checking out my profile and considering my services! A little about me....A full-time educated graphic designer for years, I did some "side" portraits and caricatures, mostly for friends and family, and due to employment changes, am now a professional award-winning caricaturist, having drawn them regularly at hundreds of events since 2003. "You made me look better than I do" has been a phrase I have been told more than once, and then there are teens describing my drawings as “accurate” with amazement....like they are shocked a caricature can actually LOOK LIKE the person! I have always loved to draw people in particular with a keen eye for distinct features enabling me to capture a true resemblance to my subjects, in a fun manner with often flattering results, decidedly different from a "cookie cutter”, indistinct or grossly distorted, over-exaggeration style that is out there! Humorous or fun doesn't have to be hideous, right? A social person, I engage my customers whenever possible to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere! I am very energized entertaining an enthusiastic group, and you will have a great experience and a great take-home "favor" to keep for years, not just a day or a week like other breakable or wash away favors I won't mention names of here ;-)
In terms of my speed, I can realistically draw black-and-white simple line headshots in as little as 3 to 4 minutes per individual person. And that is with retaining a true resemblance and not looking "Charlie Brown-like", no offense to Charlie! Full body (hobby/action poses) are a little bit longer than that, and color about the same as a full body black-and-white. Minimum booking time-frames (2 hours) apply and increase with distance from home base, and please note, lowest end hourly price listed applies to events 5 hours or more. Check out my specials and package options, especially for larger events, and ask about custom drawing paper with caption and border, theme or corporate art added and copied if desired for your special event, or perhaps a custom sign-in board! Some of these add-ons will be additional to quote, handled offline. Also, as of 2016, I carry liability insurance for those of you who may require it, or appreciate the security, as some others I know do not.
A couple more tidbits....I had a few interesting “face” related experiences to share. In 2009, I was recommended by an agent and solely featured on a half hour CT cable access show spotlighting caricature art, where I discussed and demonstrated her art (see the video link here). This was a great experience, rivaling the portrait cookie decorating contest I was selected to complete in with a handful of other portrait artists, for Food Network's "Ham on the Street" taped in Norwalk, in the early 2000s, in which she was a winner (certainly not due to her frosting)! I also drew a local celebrity Teresa LaBarbara (host of News Channel 8 CT Style) live at a fundraising event and she shared the caricature on the show! In 2017, I created a 47 subject caricature featuring a logo and building for a corporate Christmas card, so see, caricatures are not just for live events (see some gift commissions here as well).
Anyhow, I hope to draw you and your guests very soon!
