The Fiddler and the Flutist is a duo who combine the latest technology with high caliber instrumental technique to produce music that will accommodate the many unique live music needs. Anything from acoustic to unique techno music entertainment. You will hear musical influences from the pop, classical, jazz, bluegrass, and Irish genres. It’s an Eclectic/Electric musical journey. If you want upbeat and techno that will get your guests out on the dance floor, they will deliver! If you are looking for something more traditional and acoustic, they can do that too! With their classical and folk backgrounds, they can curate the perfect set list for the event of your dreams. You can't go wrong with this duo! In addition to their musical talent, Glen Alexander and Sharon Fogarty both have extensive experience in recording studios (Glen being featured on over 400 CDs, and Sharon recently recorded for an HBO series, The Righteous Gemstones), and understand the value of clean quality sound projected through speakers. For this reason, they invest in innovative top-of-the-line sound equipment, a detail often overlooked. Their speakers will not feedback or overpower a room, and this way guests can still converse freely. Their sound system can also accommodate crowds of up to 400 people. Their emphasis is on the comfort of their listeners' ears! "We each have over 30 years of experience performing. We formed our duo in 2014 and originated as a Celtic/bluegrass fusion, performing for many corporate and private events. These include weddings, anniversaries, special occasions, and holiday parties. Due to customers' needs for flexibility of musical styles and aided by our diverse backgrounds in folk and classical music, we have honed the art of customizing the setlist for each event. Along with Irish/bluegrass fusion, we now offer pop, folk, Americana, and classical wedding tunes. With the help of a looper and other electronics, combined with our multi-instrumental talents (e. g. fiddle, octave violin, mandolin, octave mandolin, mandocello, manditar, acoustic and electric guitars, flute, Irish flute, and pennywhistle) we put our unique spin on each tune. We can even offer many arrangements for one tune. Most importantly, we are sensitive to our surroundings and perform accordingly."
