Doris Williams, the Singing Angel as she has been called, accompanies herself on piano, lute, harp, keyboard, and also plays some tin whistle, wooden flute. Unstoppable…" "You owe it to yourself to hear her." "She makes the angels smile." "Puts you into another world." "A celebration…." "Sings like an angel." "People in Sweden would be lining up to hear you." These are but a few words from fans, reviewers and colleagues who describe Doris Williams' performances. When she sings be it Renaissance, Celtic, American, spiritual, or original music Ms. Williams taps into the depths of her soul and shares it easily with her audience. After singing in various chamber choirs, she began to explore a solo career with extraordinary renaissance and folk musicians. She has produced four CDs: "Sleep my Child" and CD of lullabies from many countries, "Celtic and Beyond," "Renaissance and Beyond." and "The Singing Bird". They explore her versatility as an interpreter of Renaissance, Celtic, Spiritual and original music. On these albums she plays the lute, tin whistle, keyboard, and sings. "Williams, whose light, clear soprano turns gutsy in such Celtic ballads as 'Star of the County Down,' and ethereal in the sacred 'The Lord is My Shepherd,' waxes wistful as she takes on the persona of a Renaissance damsel in Johnson's 'Have You Seen but a White Lily Grow' and subtly flirtatious in 'Now Is the Month of May,' a madrigal." Doris Williams:
I actually was playing the harp. A mother there complimented me for my playing. They had a propane tank in the outdoor tent which made me sick, so I had to walk around during the funeral. But I did sing the song requested amazing grace. And played the harp at time requested. I thought the residence was the museum they mentioned.Song List
