Sylvia started playing the violin the age of 4 and continued study in piano and viola. She received a Bachelor's of Science in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College as a violist in 2011. Mrs. DiCrescentis has studied with Gerri Fogg, Tammy Kaye, Monica Vanderbaan and Marc Anderson. She teaches a large studio of private students at her studio space Vivo Strings in Grafton, MA. For over 10 years, Mrs. DiCrescentis has played for countless weddings, parties, fundraisers and other events. Since 2013, she has performed with the Reading Symphony Orchestra in Reading, MA as principal violist. She freelances all over New England playing all types of concerts and events. She has years of experience performing in all genres of music as well as experience arranging music.
KATHRYN SKUDERA HADDAD
Kathryn, a certified Suzuki violin instructor, received her BME from the University of New Hampshire in 2010. Her love of playing the violin began at the age of three when she enrolled in Whitinsville Christian School's Suzuki program for 15 years. Kathryn has participated in the Massachusetts Central District and All State Festivals and has attended Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music. In 2006 she received University of New Hampshire's Young Artist Scholarship Award and was concertmaster of the UNH Symphony Orchestra from 2008-2010. Kathryn has managed the orchestras at The Rivers School Conservatory in Weston, MA and freelanced with many chamber and orchestral ensembles throughout New England. She recently began performing and recording with local bands and currently teaches violin and viola in the Worcester county area.
Brittany Stockwell has been playing violin for over 20 years and viola for over 10. She first began playing professionally in middle school through the Whitinsville Christian School where she took private lessons for almost 15 years with various different teachers. She currently teaches private violin and viola lessons. Brittany plays gigs of all varieties including weddings and private events. She also currently plays with the Seven Hills Symphony Orchestra in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Ethan Bates (B.M. Music Industry with classical cello concentration, Syracuse University Class of '14) is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter living in the Worcester, MA area. A lifelong cellist, he began his music education at age 4 studying classical cello at Whitinsville Christian School in Northbridge, MA with Joanne Kuder in a traditional Suzuki strings program. Apart from extensive orchestral experience, he independently studied other instruments including bass guitar, guitar, percussion, and singing throughout middle and high school. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Industry as an undergraduate in Syracuse University's Class of 2014, after which he returned to the Worcester area and has since been employed as box office manager for Music Worcester. He is also the co-founder of Blue Light Bandits, a groove rock band based Worcester that performs several times weekly throughout the Greater Boston Area. Other endeavors include an electric cello-based solo project and freelance performance as a classical cellist both as a soloist and in small ensembles.
