Professional Classical Guitar by Matthew Foley  Classical Guitarist from Palo Alto, CA

Matthew Foley has professionally taught and performed classical guitar for over 15 years. Matthew earned a Bachelors of Music degree and a Masters of Music degree from California State University, Sacramento, while studying classical guitar under Dr. Richard Savino. Additionally, Matthew has studied and performed continuously with Northern California based classical guitarist and composer, Matthew Grasso, for 12 years. Matthew has performed in masterclasses with internationally renowned guitarists: Eliot Fisk, Roland Dyens, Benjamin Verdery, Adam Holzman, and Marc Teicholz. During summer 2014, Matthew completed work with Trio Seven on their first album, Invocation to the Extended Seven String Guitar. He was featured on Matthew Grasso's 2010 album, Past Present Future, and Radiant Friend's 2016 album, Radiant Friend Live at It's All Yoga. He has provided guitar instruction at Sacramento City College, Pacific Institute of Music in Folsom, Young Artists Conservatory in Vacaville, and with Music Matters (a public elementary school music-education program in the Fairfield/ Vacaville area), and privately in his home. Matthew recently moved to the San Francisco peninsula and currently teaches music full-time at private schools in Menlo Park, Burlingame, and Redwood City. Matthew plays an extended seven-string classical guitar, built to his specifications by Sacramento based luthier, Waylin Carpenter.
