Her years of experience of being a performer and teacher (of various instruments!) will shine through no matter what song(s) you want her to grace you, your family, and wedding party with as you walk down the aisle on your most special day.” HISTORY & AWARDS Born in New Zealand and raised partially in North Carolina, Tarra was the youngest student at age 11 ever accepted for study by famous Segovia protégé, Jesus Silva, at the N.C. School of the Arts. Back in New Zealand at age 14 she won first place in the Open category of the N.Z. National Guitar Competition. She holds a Master of Music Performance Honors degree for Classical Guitar. While gaining this degree, she also studied Violin, sitting for the two years as Concertmaster in the University Symphony. Tarra has performed concerts in dozens of professional venues as a soloist and as a member of several chamber duos and ensembles. She has played in many parts of the U.S. and overseas, in venues which include small concert halls, radio stations, churches and Temples, local bars and clubs, National Folk and Bluegrass Festivals and International Classical Music Festivals. More importantly, for over 35 years, Tarra Guerra has played both classical guitar and violin for literally hundreds of beautiful weddings, anniversary parties, funerals, birthday parties, and other special occasions. Since Tarra also sings, she has also played pop, rock, country, jazz and folk, including Celtic music, as well, including walking guitar, fiddle and Celtic instruments and song for those who want something different. Tarra believes in keeping the price as low as possible, since she so enjoys what she does. A low price by no means implies inferior performance ability, but rather a sincere wish for everyone to be able to afford beautiful music at their most important events of their lives.
