Warren Kramer, Classical Guitar, Jazz Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, classical-style sacred music (hymns and worship music) on solo guitar, Latin Guitar, Spanish Guitar, Brazilian Guitar, Brazilian Jazz, Ambient and Meditational Acoustic Guitar, Folk Guitar, Fingerstyle Guitar & Bass. Warren Kramer makes a roomful of music with just one guitar. His fingerstyle instrumental guitar technique allows him to play melody and accompaniment at the same time, at times sounding like two guitars and a bass. Warren learned jazz styles from Al Swan (himself a student of Earl Klugh, the great nylon-string guitar jazz stylist). He studied the classical guitar under Andrew Schulman, Joel Yaggi, and Jerry Klickstein. Please note that Warren's profile says he will travel "up to 100 miles," but that's only because this is the limit GigMasters will allow at his current membership level. He has traveled all over Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. His solo guitar styles include jazz standards, Brazilian/Latin jazz/sambas, favorites in jazz or classical styles, ambient/meditational solo guitar originals, and hymns and worship songs on classical or acoustic guitar. He will sometimes even dust off a flatpick and play bluegrass gospel tunes (Warren used to perform as a member of the Olivet String Band, a Bluegrass group). Warren's original pieces blend jazz, classical, Spanish, contemporary fingerstyle and folk guitar styles. Sometimes you would swear you're hearing a vintage jazz standard or a lost Antonio Carlos Jobim Brazilian samba. Other times you'll be sure he's playing a lesser-known piece from the classical guitar repertoire. Other pieces may remind you of contemporary fingerstyle guitarists like Preston Reed, Robbie Basho or Marcel Dadi. Some will even sound Flamenco, and still others will be difficult to place in any category. Warren's guitar has graced numerous wedding ceremonies, galleries & gallery openings, Holiday parties (he has an extensive Christmas repertoire), corporate events, memorial services, reunions/family events and more. His music is also heard at nursing homes, care facilities, funerals and church services. His first CD is entitled "Sweet Secrets," a collection of original solo guitar pieces played on classical guitar, steel-string acoustic guitar, and archtop jazz guitar. The title song is an uplifting, lilting, folky acoustic guitar piece. He is currently recording some new compositions for a new CD which will feature mostly darker, haunting melodies in ambient or meditational styles. Most will be ensemble pieces with the guitar as the centerpiece, with bass, percussion, keyboard, lap dulcimer, and other stringed instruments (most of which Warren plays himself). Warren has led the Worship Band at his church and often plays solos for preludes, offertories, communion, and memorial services. His classical guitar style hymns, praise & worship songs are most appropriate for Christian weddings and events, though most of the weddings and receptions he plays are entirely secular celebrations.
