I am an experienced classical musician based in Philadelphia who has performed in the US and Europe, including venues such as the Kennedy Center and Amsterdam's Muziekgebouw. I'm a laureate of international competitions, have been featured on several professional recordings, and have a doctoral degree in piano performance. In Philadelphia I have been the pianist for the Academy of Music's annual gala and have played for numerous other private events. Please allow me to lend an air of sophistication to your event with music by composers such as Debussy, Ravel, Chopin, Liszt, Grieg and Rachmaninoff, as well as some jazz selections and beautiful works by lesser-known composers. Though classical music is my specialty I can easily play other genres as well and will work with you to ensure that you will have the best music to suit the occasion. At one recent wedding I played Rachmaninoff's famous 18th Variation from Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini when the bride walked down the aisle and concluded with U2's "Beautiful Day" for the recessional at the couple's request! Although contemporary classical music is likely outside of the realm of the typical "gig" request, I must say this is a particular specialty of mine so if you're producing an event that calls for something avant-garde, let's talk. In Philadelphia I accompany instrumentalists at the Curtis Institute of Music and regularly work with fine opera singers, so if you desire piano and violin, piano and voice, or even a piano trio (among other combinations) I will happily oblige.
