Dear clients, greetings to you all! It is wonderful to meet you on this platform. This is Xinou Wei, a violinist based in New York. I am currently serving as concertmaster for Camerata New York and a member Lucerne Festival Academy Alumni Orchestra under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle and Riccardo Chailly. I have led performances in all the major halls in New York, Berlin, Paris, and Hamburg, under legendary conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, David Zinman, and Ricardo Chailly. I have performed in a private recital for Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden and H.R.H. Princess Madeleine, as well as performing as a guest artist at America-Israel Cultural Foundation's 75th Anniversary Gala Celebration at Lincoln Center in New York, hosted by Itzhak Perlman. As a recitalist and chamber musician, I have performed with some of the foremost musicians of our day, such as James Ehnes, David Aaron Carpenter, and Victor Rosenbaum at Carnegie Hall. My main training was under Stephen Majeske, as well as with Sylvia Rosenberg in Aspen, and Boris Kuschcnir in Vienna. Besides performing, and teaching (I maintain a busy studio coaching young violinists studying in New York), I have embarked a career as a conductor as well-making my London debut with the London Serenata. In addition to performing, I am passionate about teaching. My devotion to teaching led me to hold posts in some of the most prestigious musical institutions in America. I was the teaching assistant for Sally Thomas at Meadowmount School of Music in New York from 2009 to 2013, where I also coached string quartets. I has also taught classes and given Master Classes for the PALS program at Aspen Music Festival and School and Rutgers University, and taught Violin, Viola, and chamber music as an adjunct faculty at Rutgers University. In the summer of 2016, I was invited by the Aaron Copland School of Music of Queens College, to be an artist faculty member of the Big Apple Music Festival, as well as a jury member of the festival's competition. I am also on the jury of Adelphi Orchestra's annual concerto competition for young artists. I am also an artist faculty of the CME Academy, Center for Musical Excellence, at the invitation of the pianist Min Kwon, CME's founder and artistic director. When I have some free time, I very much enjoy playing for weddings and other events of all kinds, as well as giving solo recitals, house concerts and chamber music performances. I have had the great fortune of knowing some of the best musicians in our trade, this allows me to also put together concerts of chamber music, orchestral, and opera of the highest calibre. Looking forward to serve you with my love, devotion and belief-music. Some of my projects and initiatives Quartet Lanner-Ensemble Alt-Wien The ensemble was founded to play dance music of Lanner, Strauss, and other Viennese classics of Schubert and Beethoven, for my special love of Viennese music. We play cafe and restaurants in New York, and all around the world at invitation. Orchestral Conducting Conducting is for me, the ultimate way of music making, with colors and harmonies, and a wealth of repertoire. As a conductor I founded the St Cecelia Chamber Orchestra in 2017, and made my European debut in London in 2018 with London Serenata. My conducting teachers are John Farrer, and Howard Williams of the Royal Academy of London, as well as Kynan Johns, who was the assistant of the late Lorin Mazzel. It has also been a tremendous advantage and a fountain of wealth of knowledge having myself played under the greatest conductors of the 20th and the 21st century, among them, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir George Benjamin, Matthias Pintscher, Riccardo Chailly, and David Zinman. I have contracted orchestras in 2018 in a Carnegie Hall performance. Events Playing for proposals, as well as wedding is something I find pleasant and rewarding. It is a special moment for the next chapter of the new couple to be-many of whom I became friends. playing concertmaster Concertmaster is the first violinist in orchestra, who bears many responsibilities including playing solo. This is a capacity I have quite some experience in-always a gratifying time. I have led among others: Garden State Philharmonic, Adelphi Orchestra, Central Park Symphony, Camerata New York, Long Island Opera, Loft Opera. The photos above are from leading Central Park Symphony in an evening of 19 century Italian music, at the invitation of Consul General of Italy Min. Plen. Francesco Genuardi, who was an honored guest. Also from the opening season concert of Camerata New York. Solo at the invitation/sponsorship of a community leader, I was able to perform solo Violin recital for a group of music lovers, A great success. I regularly perform solo recitals at major New York venues, as well as invitation based house concerts. please visit my website, Lucerne Festival page, as well as youtube channel for complete bio and more information:
