He received his doctoral degree in Harp Performance from Ball State University and a master of music in Harp from the University of Michigan. For oven ten years, Dr. Nichelson worked as a pianist, accompanist and piano teacher - performing in Von Maur Department Store and serving as rehearsal piano accompanist for many musical theater productions, church choirs, and school choirs.
