About Me Hi, I’m Payam (pronounced Pie-Yum) — a professional guitarist and vocalist specializing in classical, jazz, rock, and blues. I’m a UCLA Music Department graduate with a Master’s in Commercial Music from Cal State Los Angeles and a Doctorate in Guitar Performance from Claremont Graduate University. My goal is to create an upbeat yet elegant atmosphere with music that connects with audiences of all ages and leaves a lasting impression. Since 2006, I’ve performed at over 200 concerts, weddings, and corporate events throughout Southern California. I’m a regular performer at venues like the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, Laguna Canyon Winery, Sherman Gardens, and the Shady Canyon Country Club. My repertoire ranges from Spanish classical guitar masterpieces and jazz standards to classic rock favorites by the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Santana — performed solo, with tasteful backing tracks, or with live vocals. I’m an alumnus of the UCLA Guitar Ensemble — now directed by Mircea Gogoncea (formerly by Professor Peter Yates) — and have had the honor of performing for distinguished guests such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Nancy Reagan, and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’m fully insured, easy to work with, and committed to making every event a smooth, memorable, and musical experience.
