Nobody wants a speaker who talks and ten minutes later few remember anything they said. So, my goal is to have the audience say what a famous judge says to those who are the top performers on a television reality show, "I'm going to remember you!" Yes, many speakers say good things. Too few say memorable ones. That's why I'm all about meaningful, memorable, practical and fun. I'm an experienced speaker, coach, author and consultant certified by the John Maxwell Team. Having worked in education, business, counseling and several faith settings, I bring a rich background of experience, training and skills that make every talk practical and applicable to both work and life. I focus on two major themes which of course can easily translate into multiple variations for other talks or deeper insight at a follow-up function. Two of my six books focus on these areas and seem to resonate with a wide variety of audiences. The first is "Never Quit Climbing: Overcoming Life's Seemingly Insurmountable Mountains." It's the story of my love for the mountains that grew out of many trips with my parents to the West. However that love took a turn when following a climb done with my wife, she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. The book and my talk explain how we used principles from our climbing to get up the mountain of her cancer and more recently as I faced my own kidney transplant. The second work and the newest is called, "Finding Dominoes: Changing Your World One Encounter At A Time." It's about finding purpose and meaning through one-at-a-time interactions with people. No matter where we work, play or travel, there's someone who needs another person to give them some hope, resources, a greeting, or a listening ear, which impacts them in a way that leads to helping others. It resembles a first domino in a huge display and can ultimately impact a few, a few hundred or even thousands as a result. In every presentation I use humor, real illustrations, stories and memory tools that help the audience to overcome major mountains in their life and/or find purpose again through what they're doing or could do. I know that event planners have a tough job finding just the right person for their event so I do everything I can to help them put together a home run gathering that people are talking about for days, weeks and even months. I will also adjust and work with you or your planner to make my part easy to pull together and assure that having me come was well worth your investment.
