Joanna Brewster is a speaker, emotional intelligence and leadership coach, facilitator, and founder of Heart Talks and The Love Movement. She helps people and organizations build the human skills that transform the way we live, lead, communicate, and connect. The roots of Joanna’s work were shaped through both challenge and love. After navigating an abusive marriage, a car accident while pregnant that left her with chronic pain, and the loss of the corporate career she once knew, Joanna found herself rebuilding her life from the inside out. Through it all, she remained committed to keeping a soft heart and choosing love as a way forward. At home, that love often took the form of nightly “feeling talks” with her young son. What began as a way to help him name and understand his emotions became a defining moment in Joanna’s life when he told her, “Mom, you need to have feeling talks with people.” His words gave language to what had already been growing within her: a calling to help people feel seen, heard, understood, and more connected to themselves and one another. That calling became part of the foundation for Heart Talks and led Joanna to pursue certifications in coaching, emotional intelligence, facilitation, and trauma-informed practice. Joanna believes emotional intelligence is not a soft skill; it is a life skill, a leadership skill, and a relationship skill. Her work is grounded in the belief that when people feel safe enough to reflect, supported enough to grow, and equipped with practical tools, they can create meaningful change in their families, workplaces, and communities. With a background spanning corporate, entrepreneurship, coaching, facilitation, marketing, and personal transformation, Joanna brings a rare blend of warmth, depth, practical tools, and lived experience to every room she enters. She is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, a certified emotional intelligence coach and facilitator, Certified SEI Assessor, and trauma-informed practitioner. Joanna’s speaking sessions are not simply talks people listen to and leave behind. Her approach often weaves together storytelling, emotional intelligence teaching, reflective prompts, guided practices, and coaching-style interaction to support real growth and insight. Audiences are invited to pause, participate, reflect, and connect the learning to their own lives and leadership. Joanna speaks on topics including emotional intelligence, leading with heart, conscious communication, empathy, burnout prevention, resilience, parenting with emotional intelligence, conflict navigation, and love as a leadership practice. Whether she is speaking to a corporate team, women’s gathering, parent community, or leadership audience, her sessions are thoughtful, engaging, practical, and deeply human. When clients hire Joanna, they can expect a grounded, professional, and heart-led experience that meets people where they are while gently challenging them to grow. Her gift is creating spaces where people feel seen, invited, and equipped to lead with more presence, courage, compassion, and connection. Please note: travel outside the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area is billed separately.
