Most of us are chasing big goals. Promotions. Wins. Results. And we’re conditioned to think that there's one moment that will change everything. But that’s not how it usually works. People see my job as a Major League Baseball in-game host and assume the path there was exciting. It really wasn’t. It was years of rejection, missed chances, and working through a speech impediment that once made using my voice for a living feel unrealistic. What changed things wasn’t some surge of confidence or a lucky break. It was learning to do small things well and consistently. Preparing. Being coachable. Taking responsibility. Showing up the same way whether anyone noticed or not. That’s what my talk is really about. It's about the small choices we make every day. How we handle feedback. How we treat people when we’re stressed. How we respond when things don’t go our way. And how character shows up in the ordinary moments that quietly shape culture. Because culture isn’t built during big announcements or kickoff meetings. It’s built in how people show up for each other in the middle of the grind. When teams lead with character, trust grows, momentum builds, and big goals actually start to feel reachable. People leave feeling encouraged and inspired, but also grounded. Re-centered on what they can control. Reminded that even the most ordinary moments carry more influence than we think and that how we show up every day truly matters.
