Working with Mama Coal for my daughter’s 30th birthday was truly a gift –an already amazing celebration into a memory we will cherish forever. She was kind, thoughtful, and accommodating to our small group.
Mama Coal performing live as my daughter arrived was a beautiful surprise. Her music set the perfect tone - inviting for cocktails, fun and engaging during dinner. Then, Mama Coal energized us all by teaching fun line dancing!
The best part was Mama Coal sitting down with her guitar and inviting my daughter to sing alongside. She gave my daughter a true moment to shine. If I could give Mama Coal 8 out of 5 stars, I absolutely would.

Mamma Coal and South Western Stars made our wedding weekend so special and entertaining! They knew all the songs we wanted to hear and even learned a special song by a friend of my dad's that is not on any streaming services or the internet. It was so awesome to listen to live country music by a band who plays in Southern Arizona and we got so many compliments from our guests. If you are even considering live music at your special event I would highly recommend you look up Mamma Coal and South Western Stars to see what they are capable of. The live music was truly amazing!

We had Mamma Coal (Carra) perform at our Western Chic themed wedding welcome party and I could not recommend her enough! She performed with a super talented electric guitarist, and did the most perfect job we could have asked for. Top notch performing, we had so many guests compliment their live music specifically. She even taught a “line dance” to our dance floor! So much fun and great memories for everyone :) Carra is fun yet professional, and so talented! Her communication made booking and planning seamless. Again, I can’t recommend her enough!!

We highly recommend Mamma Coal & South Western Stars! They played for our wedding in Sedona, AZ this fall and we had a great experience working with Carra. She was very responsive and easy to work with, had everything organized and even was able to help us with a mic & sound for our outdoor, off-site ceremony. She also stood in as our emcee for the night and did a great job. Our guests loved the live music & line-dancing lesson. We even had some band members play instrumental music during our cocktail hour. We had great peace-of-mind choosing Carra and were really happy working with her and her band members. Highly recommend to anyone looking for live music!

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND South Western Stars. My husband and I booked Carra for our wedding day ceremonial music, and it was one of the best decisions we had made in planning our special day. Carra was communicative, and made sure that the music was exactly what we wanted and more. We chose to go with specific songs for each portion of our ceremony, and Carra was able to accommodate all of our requests. We even got a sneak peak audio recording of one of the songs we chose and it just really made the experience even better. I appreciate all of the hard work and artistry that went into our ceremony and Carra and her team did an amazing job. BEST MONEY SPENT!

Carra and the rest of the band are so incredibly talented! They played a wide range of old and new country, and even threw in a few originals! Everyone kept coming up to us just to tell us how much they loved the band! I especially enjoyed the line dancing tutorial that Carra gave, it got all my friends and family out onto the dance floor! Carra was incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process, and it took so much weight off my shoulders the day of the reception. I would recommend the South Western Stars to absolutely anyone and everyone in need of a wedding band, or even just check out one of Carra's local shows! I promise, you won't regret it!!

Carra and her musicians made the night successful. EVERYONE commented on how beautiful Carra's voice is, how they were able to read the room, their flexibility in moving inside and outside, and especially that they learned a song in a day to play to our newly weds! I would 100% recommend them for any event- large or small.

Mamma Coal is THE BEST! Hiring Mamma Coal was hands down the best decision I made for my wedding! It's been weeks since the wedding and my guests are still talking about how amazing the band was. The line dancing was a big hit! Incredible talent aside, Carra is lovely, helpful person. She genuinely cared about making her band and music fit our vision for the wedding. Her follow up and professionalism surpassed my expectations. On many occasions, she had suggestions to make the day more special and flow more smoothly. She even acted as an unofficial wedding coordinator in some respects! I cannot say enough glowing things about her. Do not hesitate to hire Mamma Coal!
