The Western Express Country Band from Austin, TX

We're Phill and Stephen. We started The Western Express as a duo in 2019 and got our start playing restaurants and bars with an upright bass, an acoustic guitar, and a large repertoire of the best 20th century country music. Stephen sang and wrote songs, Phill played bass and managed the band. Fast forward to 2024, The Western Express has expanded the band roster and embarked on a successful recording and radio career all over Texas. We've played hundreds of shows, released a record, and rode that wave all the way to the Top 30 on the Texas Country charts. Our second record is slated for release later this year. This year will also mark the third in a row playing a large outdoor stage at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and our second playing the Austin Rodeo. Our journey has taken us through some of the most iconic venues and dancehalls in Texas: The Broken Spoke in Austin, The Armadillo Palace, Floore's Country Store, and Luckenbach. Stephen can play solo, or the band can play with up to six people. If there's a particular instrument you'd love to hear, let us know. Even if it's a saxophone!
