WECOME! Sagefire is a classic rock & country cover band that has performed in the Lake Norman area for 10+ years. Their variety of music showcases talented musicians & vocal harmonies. Her love of music began early when her Dad had 6 year old Reba singing Loretta Lynn songs in the living room. Her Mother bought her first guitar in high school. Singing with her sister in a Gospel group in her teen years and then playing guitar and singing her sister’s original songs on a local TV show kept her heart close to music. After building a successful engineering management career, Reba felt music tugging at her heart again when her kids were young. She returned to music in church choir and praise bands and eventually formed Sagefire. She is most proud of her family and the joy she has had in sharing her love of music and animals. Reba plays acoustic guitar and sings both lead vocals and harmony. RALPH GOODENOUGH comes to Sagefire with a fascinating history of strong devotion to his love of music. He plays multiple instruments and has been known to play the bass and keyboard at the same time. In addition to writing over 100 songs, he has produced 2 albums of his original songs. His musical journey has taken him from school with Bruce Springstein to all along the Jersey Shore doing what he loves – making music! It’s what keeps him young! When not playing music, he relaxes by long-distance hiking, practicing yoga and meditation and has recently taken up roller skating. Ralph’s talents on the keyboard take Sagefire to a new level and his experience-based advice is invaluable. RICK LIPSON has played drums since he was 13 years old and is still going strong. He has been a member of multiple Worship, Country, and Classic Rock bands since 2018. Personal thrills for him include playing at Filmore, Middle C. Jazz, Heist and for 660 Vietnam veterans at the Uptown Charlotte Westin. Amazing memories of seeing the Beatles LIVE remain with Rick. Influences on Rick’s drumming include the great Ringo Starr and the amazing Charlie Watts. Now that Rick is retired, he is devoting most of his time and attention to his love of making music. Sagefire is thrilled to have him as their drummer and practice host. When not making music, Rick can usually be found in a Master Swimmers’ Competition. JIM MATSON picked up the guitar as a child but shifted his focus to sports in high school and college, playing football at Davidson. Decades later, he rediscovered his passion and starting playing in praise bands with his extremely talented Juilliard-trained son. (who has gone on to have a professional career in NYC). Being one of the longest-running members of Sagefire, Jim brings his talents as a vocalist, 12-string acoustic guitarist and a solid harmonica player. Vocal harmonies come easy for Jim and help give Sagefire’s music depth and complexity. In his spare time, you can often catch him out on Lake Norman. HENRY PHARR has been playing bass and guitar, as well as singing and writing songs for over 40 years. He has been involved in power pop, classic rock, Rn’B, country and soul projects and bands. His musical talents have resulted in multiple band and solo album releases. In the early 90s, law school interrupted his journey to full time professional musician. However, even though he now works as an attorney, Henry has maintained his love for music and has kept up his admirable skills. Today he plays with the band, Grievous Angels from Charlotte, and Sagefire is thrilled to have him on board as their bass player. When Henry is not conducting law business and playing music, he can be found somewhere on a long-distance hike with his camera.
