The Blue Route Band Cover Band from Ardmore, PA

The Blue Route Band has been gigging in the Philadelphia and Northern Delaware region for the past three years. We are a six piece band with a female and male vocalist ( he plays acoustic guitar and congas). We also have drums. bass, guitar and keyboards. Our music covers a wide time period, from jump blues and jazz to the R& B of today, with lots of solid rock thrown in. Our website at has photos, videos and audio tracks for you to check out. We also have a facebook page, listed as "The Blue Route Band". The Blue Route Band has a complete repertoire of dancing listening and good time party music. Primarily, we are a band for private parties and the bar scene. We have played mostly the bar scene in the Philadelphia and Wilmington suburbs. We also played outdoor family events at Linvilla Farms in Media, PA For all our gigs we are always asked back. Our members come from very diverse musical and professional backgrounds: - Ron Smith; bass player, has been a life long resident of Bucks County PA except about 1 1/2 years when he moved to Utah in 75 and 76. He began playing bass at 10 years old. Then in high school learned the cello. Ron also played upright bass with A Swingin' Affair Jazz Band from 2009 to 2017. Bass guitar with Tuesday's Blues Band from 2008 to present, and The Blue Route Band from about 2012 to present. - Jann Glider; lead guitarist and songwriter who plays and writes music in a variety of styles including: Blues, Classic Rock, Fusion, Jazz, Country Blues and Jugband, as well as Old-Time Appalachian fiddle.Early in his music career,he played guitar with The New Memphis Jugstompers. Soon after, he joined Cat's Cradle, a San Francisco style jam band in Worcester, Massachusetts. In Philadelphia, he has performed with a variety of Classic Rock and Blues bands including: The Bluescasters, The No Alibi Blues Band (featuring Zan Gardner) and the King Bees.Other bands in the area I've worked with include: Firemonkey (Europop), The Blue Route (Classic Rock), the Flip Sidz (Classic Rock) and most recently, The Smooth Transition Band (an event and party band). He has had the pleasure of opening for: the Allman Brothers, Leon Russel, Edgar Winter, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Roy Buchannon, The Holy Modal Rounders, Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers, Junior Klein and the Recliners among others. -Lisa Sellers; lead vocalist for The Blue Route band.She's been singing since she could talk and has worked with a number of bands ( Natural Environment, Inner Earth, Sweet n ' Sass, East Coast Band). Studied voice performance in college, she has a alto/ second soprano vocal range and has been influenced by jazz ( Ella Fitzgerald, Sara Vaughn) as well as r& b, pop vocalists. Transitioned' into this current 6 piece group and loving every minute performing. - Denis Lee; drummer/vocalist. Denis has played in a variety of different bands in the Philadelphia area; including The Bluescasters, Smooth Transition,the Attitudes, The Crumbs. He honed his craft in the western states during the 80's playing country and western swing music on a nightly basis. He also plays trombone with The Diamond State Concert Band and U of Delaware Life Long Learning Jazz Orchestra and Brass Ensemble. -Jack Weiss; Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, has been singing since he emerged from the womb. Jack has now logged has over 30 years of experience singing and performing in public and private venues as a member of variety of rock bands and choirs. Jack lives for tight harmonies and classic rock and roll. -Paul Sokoloff; keyboard, guitar, mandolin and bass player who has played in several cover bands since high school. They are The Blue Route Band, The Vinny Band, The Jazafarians, Old Gnus, The Bluescasters, The Attitudes, and Sweet Amber. Styles include, rock, jazz, and folk. I am retired now and was employed by WCAU-TV for 36 years. I enjoy playing with our complement of talented musicians. We work really hard to put much passion and enthusiasm into the music, while also maintaining the integrity of and exactness of the tunes we cover. Keying into the dancers helps us to make the music to the next level of intensity.
