Lina Basset - Birthday Party Host - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ABOUT THE MEMBERS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Graeme - Lead vocals and guitar Graeme was born & raised in Essex, East London & played in some of the toughest venues in front of some of the roughest crowds in London! Arriving in Canada, firstly Quebec and now Ottawa, he's sung & played in numerous outfits including the much-travelled The Jet 200s before finally finding a home when he founded The Start with Frank… Bill Green - Bass Guitar Bill was born and raised in Ottawa, and has never set foot in the UK, making him the token native Canadian -- and the "anchor bassist" for the band. He's toured with and supported all kinds of artists whom you've likely heard of (but who, for legal reasons, we can't mention), grooving to a variety of styles, from country and R&B to Swedish melodic death metal. Stephen Tippet - Keyboards Stephen hails from Exeter, England and has an onslaught of instruments at his disposal. He has played far-and-wide, including the Glastonbury Festival. David - Lead guitar Having lived in the UK, this former web guru finds a home in The Start with his punk and indie influenced guitar work. In true British fashion, when his amp is not cranked to 11, he can be found puttering in his garden and drinking copious amounts of tea. Nathan - Percussion The Start's groove oriented drummer (the other Nathan) hails from Montreal, Quebec and discovered his passion for drumming when at the tender age of 12 years old, he picked up a discarded 3 piece drum set out on the curb by a lost soul (clearly). This led to playing percussion in a high school band that competed in band competitions in Canada and the US and a stint with a rock band called Oral Sects. Torn between two loves, playing music and playing soccer, Nathan decided to pursue his dream of playing professional soccer and put the drums away for 18 years. In 2004, the knees could no longer hold up and so Nathan decided to pursue his other love and joined two local cover bands called Rusty and Surrender Dorothy, before signing up with The Start.
