The Story of VCS:
"As a singer-guitarist, I have been playing every gig possible big and small, hundreds a year! In the recent years, I've been averaging nearly 50 weddings a year! Each gig was more fun than the last, and overtime it clicked: People not only want a truly unique and amazing musical experience, something that will, quite literally, move them, but also a seamless planning process leading up to the event! Once I met and started playing regularly with some of the other players, we started playing a TON of weddings in the southeast. After about a year or so, we realized, "Hey, we may have something here! Thus, VCS was born" -Nick (Guitar/Vocals)
"I studied musical theater in Boston before moving to Atlanta. Needless to say, my passion for performing and music has always been a constant. When I moved to Atlanta for a change of scenery, I picked up gigs and started playing weddings at a large scale, which is where I met the other players. Since day one, we just clicked so well and continue to compliment each other to this day on and off stage, planning or playing. We made it our goal to start a band that would bring the house down in any setting or event, and I believe we have done that. We are not an agency with hundreds of players, we are one band with one mission: To play the best music with the greatest energy so everyone has the absolute time of their lives!" -Mike L (Keys/Vocals)
"Through the years I've played with nearly everyone in Atlanta. Music has been a passion project, but also my profession. Musicians come and go, rise and fall, etc. Whoever had the gig, I was playing with them. Needless to say, I've had some fun gigs and some bad ones, but was sick of playing with other musicians who are only in it for the paycheck. That's not why I started playing music in the first place! When I started gigging with the current members of Velvet City Sound, I found they shared the same excitement for playing as I did. Finding musicians who aren't total entitled divas is rare as well, yet here we are! We really started getting into performing a variety of events, all of which have been nothing short of a pleasure to be a part of. Here's to the future! -Mike F. (Drums/Vocals)
