More about DJ Flag Runner I started DJing as a hobby when I was 17 (10 years ago) & soon discovered my passion for connecting with others through music. To me, DJing is more than just putting on a good show. Words can’t tell how many times I was going through a rough patch & hearing the right song at the right time is what got me through it. It wasn’t long before friends started calling me the “light of the party” & that showed me I have what it takes to help people in the same ways I’ve been helped and a lot more. After that, I started making friends with other DJ’s and have had the opportunity to DJ at a variety of different places/events. Places such as The Fahrenheit Lounge in Layton, UT; The Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, UT; & The Beehive in Salt Lake City, UT - to name a few. So how did I choose my name? After trying out a few different names, I landed on DJ Flag Runner for many reasons. At their core, flags were created as a symbol meant for the purpose of representing a set of values for which people would defend with their lives. In battle, a fallen flag represents defeat and on the contrary, a flag still standing means there’s still something worth fighting for. Now I’m not here for war & battle. I chose the name DJ Flag Runner because the flag that I run is the flag that brings them all together where everyone’s flag is standing in one place because everyone deserves a place of their own in this world. The idea was inspired by one of my favorite games of all time - Capture the Flag. We’ve seen many different versions of this game in everything from paintball & military boot camps to video games & party games for children. It’s always been one of my favorite games because of the focus around objective & teamwork. When I play Capture the Flag, I will fill any role necessary to help my team where/when they need it & my team always knows they can count on me to be the one to grab that flag & run it home.
