Mitzi Schwarz Variety Singer from Los Angeles, CA

When Mitzi Albert-Schwarz was born, recounts her mother, the obstetrician proclaimed "What a pair of lungs!", and we knew then that Mitzi burned with the fire and passion of song and performance. She began performing professionally at the age of twelve, joining the Santa Monica Playhouse as a member of their critically acclaimed Young Professionals Workshop. She went on to perform in cabaret and theater productions throughout Southern California: The Oak Room, Grappa Cucina Supper Club, Cafe Ibiza, The Gardenia Supper Club. Theatrically, Mitzi has performed in Gypsy, The Three Sisters, Bob Kaufman Live – Poetry and Other Writings, Murder by Night, Taxpayer, Taxpayer: An Original Musical Spoof, and Brownstone, among others. Mitzi has performed extensively in concert and over the years has sung for the City of Hope, the Holy Spirit Retreat Center's Summer Concert Series, The Pediatric AIDS Foundation, The San Fernando Valley Cultural Center's Concerts in the Park, B'nai Brith, Marina Del Rey Outdoor Concert Series, El Segundo Library Concert Series, The Los Angeles Zoo, The Big Bear Lake Summer Wine Walk, to name but a few of the venues she's played. Moreover, she is a Cantorial Soloist, and as such, not only has a strong background in Jewish liturgy, but also knows how to put over the Jewish, Yiddish and Ladino hits with flair and pizzaz. Additionally, for the past 18 years, Mitzi has worked with, and now leads, her own casual band, called, appropriately, Mitzi's Music. She and her talented musicians have provided the music for countless wedding receptions, corporate events, retirement parties, promotion parties, Christmas parties, New Year's Eve bashes - you name it, they've played it! This is a versatile band, the core players consisting of keyboards, bass, drums, guitar, sax, and, of course, Mitzi heading up the band, with an emphasis on swing, oldies Rock n' Roll, pop and western swing.
