Clarinetist and saxophonist Todd Brunel hailed as playing with "Tremendous virtuosity and heart" by the Boston Globe, has been working as a professional musician for over 25 years. He has performed at such stages as Carnegie Hall, Regatta Bar, The Montreal Jazz Festival, BOZAR in Brussells, Belgium, Preservation Jazz Hall, TEATRO NO'HMA in Milan, Italy and colleges and universities throughout the United States and abroad. He is an in-demand musician who performs in various groups and styles from jazz to classical to world music. He is the clarinet and saxophone professor at Wheaton College in Norton, MA and a Conn-Selmer endorsing artist and clinician. A few years ago, he teamed up with 'Masterful Boston guitarist' (Josef Woodard, Downbeat Magazine) Eric Hofbauer, to form a duo with the explicit goal of providing great live music entertainment at house concerts, private functions and other small venues or events in New England. Since that time our duo has expanded! The Brunel Hofbauer Duo (trio, quartet and quintet): After years of working together in various creative projects, including the Variable Density Sound Orchestra featuring Jazz legend John Tchicai, the two formed a duo to perform Swing and Bop Era classic repertoire with a modern twist. Their unique clarinet and guitar combination blends the legacy of the Benny Goodman/Charlie Christian, and Jim Hall/Jimmy Giuffre traditions with a highly conversational, modern rhythmic style. The duo is perfectly suited for intimate setting of quiet listening, or functions where the music adds culture and atmosphere to the surroundings They also love to team up with some of the very best jazz and classical musicians in the New England area in larger ensembles of mixed strings, winds and brass in trio, quartet, quintet or larger chamber orchestra configurations. They are flexible, adapt to your party needs and take requests on demand.
