FUEGO FLAMENCO Flamenco Dancer from Jacksonville, FL

FUEGO FLAMENCO is Jacksonville's most sought after Dance Troupe, featuring traditional "puro" Flamenco as well as classical Spanish Dance, and Nuevo Flamenco. Their specialty is performing for corporate events, private parties, community events and festivals. Other services include lectures and demonstrations for community organizations and schools. In addition, they offer classes for adults and children. This dynamic troupe has performed for clients such as; Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Ritz-Carlton at the Jacksonville Landing, Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Jacksonville Landing (hosted by Eco-Latino), The Menendez Birthday Celebration at Lightner Museum (hosted by The Historical Society of St. Augustine), The Ponce De Leon Festival in St. Augustine (hosted by LaPresensa, Orlando), just to name a few. The troupe has also worked with local well known artists such as James and Sylvia Kalal, Dennis Fermin Spanish Guitar and David Redding. HISTORY: Principal Instructor, Naomi Vail started her education in Flamenco in 1989 in Philadelphia with Julia Lopez of "Flamenco Ole". After moving to Florida she continued her instruction with World Famous Teo Morca, also attended workshops with Jose Greco II. In 1998, at the urging of Dulce Anaya (Jacksonville Ballet Theatre) and Ralph Ramirez (Boleros Dancesport), she started teaching. It was then that "Flamenco de la Costa" was born. In 2008 Naomi joined forces with Lisa Benton, President of The Association of Spain. It was that joint venture that created "FUEGO FLAMENCO"....... which has now become the premier and most successful Spanish Dance troupe in all of Northeast Florida. Both Lisa and Naomi have attended numerous workshops such as The National Institute of Flamenco, in Albuquerque, NM. Among their many accomplishments, they successfully hosted two workshops in Jacksonville with world famous Antonio Vargas. Vargas is best know for his work in "Stictly Ballroom" and "Impossible Two". In 2013 they hosted the very popular Flamenco Workshop featuring Juan Siddi of "The Juan Siddi Flamenco Theatre Company" in Santa Fe, NM.
