I'm a multi-instrumentalist who has performed full time for over 20 years on violin, fiddle, celtic wooden flute, banjo, accordion, pennywhistle, ukulele, and piano. I specialize in lively ethnic music: celtic, cajun, zydeco, bluegrass, Irish, Scottish, French Canadian, and more. I enjoy playing everything from back ground music for business functions, for weddings, and main stage performances with a band. My music is suitable for family audiences.
I can perform solo, as a duo with my son as "The Fiddling Thomsons," or provide a band of various sizes. I also teach cajun dancing, and call contra and square dances. I've won numerous awards for my music making, on fiddle, banjo, and accordion, including a Boston Music Award Nomination for my accordion playing with my cajun band, and the Northeast Regional award at the National Fiddle Contest.
I've been designated a 'Master Traditional Artist,' by The New Hampshire Council on the Arts, and my son and I have won the Twin Fiddling Award at the Lowell National Park fiddle and banjo contest. We are reliable, sociable. and hard working.
We have been invited for each of the past two years to perform in China at the Meet in Beijing international arts festival. We continue to play at many other events across the US from California to New England.

Ryan and Brennish provided music for our cocktail hour and dinner party reception in Lake Placid. It was PERFECT! They knew exactly how to read the room, and everyone loved the music. The song selections were exactly what we were hoping for (folk) which fit the atmosphere. We loved the variety of instruments -they are both so talented! Ryan was quick to respond to any questions I had in advance of our event. I would highly recommend Ryan and Brennish for any event. You will not be disappointed! Thank you both for being a part of our special day!

We were blessed to have this father/son fiddling duo at our small backyard celebration a few weeks ago!
After a long COVID year, we decided everyone could use a special festivity and boy was it special!!
The music was mesmerizing -many of our guests commented on how relaxed they felt while listening.
It was a beautiful Spring evening and their magical fiddle playing made our event one we will always remember!
We loved the small educational pieces they planted in between songs - learning about the music gave us an even greater appreciation for the music.
Amazing, wonderful, gracious, soft spoken and humble fiddle masters!

Ryan Thomson was the perfect choice for our event. He arrived early, used his amazing talents to play his instruments for us for 4 hours, and was very professional and friendly.
