We are Discodelic Group, a Boston area band...doing our own takes on Funk, Disco, R&B, and Rock tunes etc. Discodelic brings experienced, talented musicians who know how to entertain. We love to play music that gets people moving! Keith Jacques, Lead Vocals and Guitar More about Keith: I have been singing and playing guitar and drums in rock bands since high school. Since 2010 I have performed all over New England under my own name and as a side man for many artist/bands including Katrina Gustafson, Theo Powers, John Fitzsimmons and the Salty Dawgs, Mister Vic The Butler Frogs, Karen K and the Jitterbugs, Shoot the Cat, Drastic Measures. Why Discodelic: I am thrilled to be in this band because I get to play with some great musicians and make people dance! Perry Bakalos: Guitars Gigging bassist with Columbia Records artist Digney Fignus's band from 1989-1990. Recorded and toured on bass with Greek Rock-Fusion guitarist Foko under Sony-Microtone records from 1992-1997. Guitarist for Jazz-Rock-Fusion band Essential Hazard, releasing the eponymous album in 2011 on EES records. Guitarist with award winning Boston North African funk-jazz band Atlas Soul 2012 - present. Co-produced (w/ Jacques Pardo) and recorded Atlas Soul's 2013 IMA vox populi winning World Music EP "Gypsy Wind" in 2013. Wrote Atlas Soul's 2013 IMA vox populi winning Funk-Fusion song "This Won't Take Long" in 2013, with lyrics written by the poet Regie Gibson Mik Mersha: Bass and Vocals More about Mik: Currently playing and producing the band Sugar Kings (Afro-Cuban Fusion) Past groups include Michigan Blacksnake (Original Funk, R&B), Various Wedding/Event Bands under Wilson Stevens, Pretty Polly, East Coast Soul, etc. with 10 years bandleading Splash. Also performed and recorded with Balla Tounkara (West-African, Malian) and various world music outfits. Why Discodelic: Happy to create music that focuses on a great repertoire of dance music from the 70s on up with great players that can improvise and push limits while keeping the dance floor poppin.
